MORETOWN — A 21-year-old Moretown firefighter was allegedly under the influence when he returned to the fire station after a call yesterday, police say.

Police responded to the Moretown Fire Department for a report of a vehicle that backed into the fire station at around 9:20 p.m.

Police spoke with the operator, identified as Brandan Abare, who had been operating the Moretown Fire Truck.

Abare was returning from a call when he backed into the fire station.

Police say they took Abare into custody for DUI as he showed signs of being intoxicated.

He was cited to appear in court on November 21.
