MONTPELIER — A 24-year-old Northfield man is facing multiple charges following an alleged check forgery in Montpelier back in August.

Police say they began an investigation when they were notified of a stolen check that had been forged and cashed at a local bank.

Following the investigation, police allege the check was cashed by Ian Watkins.

Yesterday police made contact with Watkins and he was issued a citation for forgery, possession of the stolen property, false information to a police officer.

He is scheduled to appear in court on October 29.
