MORETOWN — Police say a bus carrying school children slid off of the road in Moretown this morning.
Authorities responded to a report of a bus that had gone off the Moretown Common Road at around 7:50 a.m.
According to the police report, the bus was traveling west up a steep curved hill.
The bus lost traction and slid backward off the road.
Police say the undercarriage of the bus became lodged in the edge of the road, stopping the vehicle.
The children were accounted for and transferred to another bus that brought them to their schools.
The bus carried children from Moretown Elementary School and Harwood Union High School.
Police say there were no reported injuries and the parents were notified.
