Underhill man facing charges after allegedly pointing gun at driver

JERICHO — A 19-year-old man from Underhill is facing multiple charges following an incident in Jericho this morning.

A 23-year-old man from Essex reported to police that a suspicious vehicle, an older model Ford truck, was following him while he delivered mail at around 7:03 a.m.

Police say the man was met by the same truck a second time at an intersection where the truck blocked the road.

The victim told police the driver of the truck point a firearm at him and he quickly fled the scene.

Before reporting the incident, the victim turned around and followed the suspicious truck until it turned into the driveway of a home in Underhill.

He provided an address for the police to follow up with.

Police spotted a truck that matched the description provided at the given address in Underhill.

Following an investigation, Matthew Cook was interviewed by police.

Police say they seized one firearm from Cook and he was released on scene with a citation to appear in court for the charges of aggravated disorderly conduct, negligent operation, reckless endangerment.
