RICHMOND — Police responded to a three-vehicle crash in Richmond yesterday.
The crash took place on Interstate 89 south at around 8:25 p.m.
While responding, police were notified that two more vehicles had collided into the original crash.
One of the vehicles, driven by Jesse Sawyer, 25, of Vergennes, was fully engulfed in flames.
Sawyer collided with the guardrails and came to rest in the travel lane of the interstate.
Police say a vehicle driven by Courtney Walton, 29, of Killington, was headed south when she lost control due to icy road conditions.
Kayla Steen, 32, of Waterbury, struck Walton during the incident.
The interstate was briefly shut down while Richmond Fire extinguished the vehicle fire.
All operators and occupants were evaluated on scene by Richmond Rescue and Williston Rescue.
Police say there were no injuries during this crash.
