MIDDLESEX — A 29-year-old woman was cited for DUI and providing false information to law enforcement in Middlesex yesterday.

Police responded to the intersection of East Hill Road and Upper Sunny Brook Road for a report of a vehicle off the road at around 1:35 a.m.

Police say they spoke with Alexandra Freeman, of California, who was initially claiming to be the passenger when they arrived.

According to the report, Freeman told police that her boyfriend had been driving and left to go get help.

After further conversation with Freeman, police say she admitted that she was the driver.

Police say Freeman was showing signs of being under the influence of alcohol and was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI.

She was transported to the State Police Barracks in Middlesex for processing.

Later she was released on a citation to appear in court on January 2.
